The William T. Morris Foundation only awards grants to IRS recognized, 501(c)(3) organizations and governmental units under section 170(c)(1) of the Internal Revenue Code.
- We do not award grants to individuals.
- We do not accept unsolicited requests for grants.
- Grant requests are only accepted through our online grant interface.
- We may under certain circumstances provide gift matching.
- Grants are provided to domestic organizations only.
- Projects we support may occur internationally.
In deciding how to invest our resources most responsibly, we look for projects that:
- Produce positive impact in under-served and/or under-funded areas.
- Collaborate with government, philanthropic, private-sector, and not-for-profit partners.
- Advance optimal strategies set forth, accelerating the work we are already supporting
- Leverage support from other sources
- Produce measurable results
